We are halfway through the Top 14 season, well except for the postponed games that is. Also it looks like some common sense might be happening with the Top 14 threatening to boycott the rest of the European campaign. For my mind this makes a lot of sense as I put in my For Your Ears Only video last week.
Anyway let’s get on with the Top 14 Round 14 predictions.

EDIT – I nearly missed that there is a catchup game on Thursday this week.
When Lyon v Montpellier was postponed I predicted a home win by 10 points. With Lyon slipping up in the last couple of rounds I’ve narrowed that a little. I still think it should be a regulation home win for Lyon but I think I was at comfortable home win before.
|Lyon v Montpellier||Lyon by 7|
Here are my Top 14 Round 14 Predictions:
Toulon are still perfect at home so the first one is an easy pick as they take on lower table Bayonne. 10 points is perhaps on the little side when you see Bayonne’s -107 points difference though….
The next game is an absolute cracker. Top of the visiting the side that could be top of the table if they win their postponed game. Either way I’d go with the home side in this one and a so that means Racing this weekend.
Castres v Agen is a must win game for both sides as they are bottom table sides. In reality though Agen are already relegated aren’t they? We might only be halfway through the season but only 2 points so far means it’s hard to see how they can survive. Castres though really have to get a good win here for their survival hopes.
I find the Pau v Clermont one a really interesting tie. Initially you’d go with the easy away win but Clermont are in a bit of a slump with 3 losses on the trot. Pau also got a moral boosting win last round but even so an away win looks on the cards.
Montpellier have missed more games due to COVID than any other side. That and some poor form sees them second from bottom in the table. This is a great opportunity for Brive to put one of their relegation/lower table rivals in even more trouble. At home they should do it.
Lyon’s great run of form has come to an end and with Bordeaux having a decent home record this should be a regulation home win.
Toulouse are on a good run of 5 wins and Stade’s only away wins are against 12th and 14th in the table. Not so much regulation home win as comfortable home win here.
|Toulon v Bayonne||Toulon by 10|
|Racing 92 v La Rochelle||Racing 92 by 3|
|Castres v Agen||Castres by 7|
|Pau v ASM Clermont Auvergne||ASM Clermont Auvergne by 3|
|Brive v Montpellier||Brive by 3|
|Bordeaux Begles v Lyon||Bordeaux Begles by 5|
|Toulouse v Stade Francais||Toulouse by 7|
Record So Far
Over all I’m 56 from 82 or 67%, it might not look great but I’m up on the SuperBru community in 10 out of 13 rounds so far this season.
