Well the Gallagher Premiership appears to be pulling off a minor miracle. That’s right they haven’t had to postpone or cancel a game so far due to COVID. The latest round of tests have all come back -ve as well which is great news.

Bristol v Northampton Saints – Bristol by 10
Saints have given up 81 points in just 2 games and they haven’t faced Exeter yet! Their fans really are in for a long old season if this continues. Clearly defence is the main thing that Saints need to be working on and Bristol are not the side you want to be coming up against in these circumstances.
Bristol lost their opening game away to Wasps but I think that quite a few teams will be saying that about trips to Coventry this season. At home against a leaky defence? Should be one to enjoy for Bristol’s fans.
Leicester Tigers v Exeter Chiefs – Exeter Chiefs by 25
Well that early season optimism from Tigers fans evaporated quickly! Losing away to London Irish is not a good sign for for Leicester. This weekend they have the dubious pleasure of hosting the Premiership and European champions who have won their opening 2 games by 30 and 37 points.
This is looking like a big away victory as Exeter just go from strength to strength.
Wasps v Newcastle Falcons – Wasps by 3
Oh a tough one to call. How long can the honeymoon period go on for Falcons? A fantastic start to their season after promotion sees them second in the table. Wasps at home however I think will be a different test. Wasps have already beaten Bristol at home and whilst I think it will be a tight contest I think the home side will get at least the win.
Worcester Warriors v Bath Rugby – Worcester Warriors by 3
A couple of much harder games to predict that I would have thought pre-season. Both these sides have started poorly. Sure Worcester got a win in the opening round but that was just by 1 point over London Irish. Bath have 2 losses to their name already and what looked pre-season like a good opportunity for a win is now a tough away fixture. Again I’m going with home advantage.
London Irish v Sale Sharks – London Irish by 3
Pre-season I’d have said comfortable away victory. However Sale are down a few players and we saw that they came up short last weekend against the newly promoted side. Irish were close in the opening round and then got the job done at home against Tigers. I know it’s a big ask but I think that Irish could pick up another win to really give them an early season boost.
Gloucester Rugby v Harlequins – Gloucester Rugby by 7
It’s an old cliche but this really is one of those where it depends on who turns up on the day. Both these sides have already racked up a big win and a big loss. Will the 2 winning versions of the teams turn up? The 2 losing ones or will it be one sided? I think it’s anyones guess and I wouldn’t be putting any money on this game.
Record So Far
6 from 12 or 50%, I might as well be flipping a coin with my predictions so far! A dire start to the season.
