It looks like we might actually have a full round of Pro14 games this weekend! That’s great news and let’s get straight into those games.

Connacht Rugby v Ospreys – Connacht Rugby by 10
At the moment there’s a simple rule for picking Pro14 games. If there’s an Irish side involved then back them. So far 3 of the 4 Irish sides have won all their games. Luckily for Ospreys, Connacht are the only one that has lost games!
Even so a poor performing Ospreys side with their internationals missing isn’t likely to enjoy traveling over to the west side of Ireland. A comfortable home win for me.
Benetton Rugby v Dragons – Benetton Rugby by 3
Oh dear there’s no Irish side in this one so I have to think about it. Benetton are having a shocking season with 5 losses from 5 games so far. Internationals and Covid interruptions clearly haven’t helped.
However the Dragons are also having a poor season with only 1 win so far which was at home and having had more games than any other side postponed.
Who’ll lose it the least? I think the home side will have a rare ray of sunshine in this season.
Scarlets v Leinster Rugby – Leinster Rugby by 15
Back to an easy pick. Just go with the Irish side and as Leinster’s smallest winning margin this season is 12 points, I’m expecting it to be by a couple of scores at least.
Scarlets did beat Connacht in Ireland, however their other 2 wins were against the Italian sides who are really struggling this season.
Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors – Cardiff Blues by 3
Another game where I have to think. Not an easy call this one. Cardiff have won 3 games this season and there have been some positive vibes coming out of the province. Those have diminished over recent weeks and their wins have been Connacht and the 2 Italian sides.
However a post Dave Rennie Glasgow are another side really struggling. Is it the loss of internationals? COVID disruptions? or the new coaching setup? I don’t know but they’ll be looking forward to playing the Italian sides asap.
Edinburgh v Ulster Rugby – Ulster Rugby by 3
I’ve gone with the Irish side as Ulaster have won all their games this season. If you look a bit closer and you’ll see they only beat Cardiff by 4 points and Scarlets by 2 last round.
Edinburgh have picked up a couple of victories recently and look to be improving. Sure losing to Leinster last weekend will have dented moral but everyone loses to Leinster. Should be a tight game but I have to back the Irish provinces at the moment.
Munster Rugby v Zebre Rugby Club – Munster Rugby by 20
A good Irish province against a struggling Italian side. Oh dear this one is going to blow out and the only question really is by how much? I’ve probably gone on the low side here with 20 as Ulster and Connacht have won by 43 and 35 points in the last 2 rounds.
Record So Far
I’m 28 from 37 or 76%, in the last 3 rounds I’m 13 from 14 so heading in the right direction.
