Gallagher Premiership 2019-2020 Round 22 Predictions

The final round of the Gallagher Premiership regular season has been as crazy as it can be. We’ve had a game cancelled due to contact with a team that has CORONA. Where as the team with CORONA have had their game postponed!

You can fuel New Zealand Sport Radio with a coffee over on the right of the page

Gloucester Rugby v Northampton Saints – Gloucester Rugby by 5

This is the cancelled game. I made my prediction before the game was called off. Basically both sides have nothing to play for so it’s more like a pre-season game for next season. With that in mind as both sides have really poor records recently I went with the home side.

Leicester Tigers v Harlequins – Harlequins by 3

Another game that has nothing on the line. Tigers have had a shocker of a season and have been saved from the drop due to Saracens financial cheating.

The New Zealand Sport Radio podcast is available on SpotifyiTunesiHeartRadioAcast and many more podcatchers.

Quins haven’t got anything on the line but are the better side so if they turn up then they should win this. If they are on the beach or thinking of next season then that they might slip up.

London Irish v Bristol – Bristol by 30

This game does matter. Bristol need the win to put pressure on those above them and try to make the playoffs. Irish should be thinking of next season now as there’s nothing on the line here. That I think will lead to a hiding.

Saracens v Bath Rugby – Bath Rugby by 5

The season is over for Saracens now that they are out of Europe. Bath on the other had are gunning for the playoffs and maybe even a home semi final. With more on the line you have to go with the visiting side. Remember Saracens have lost 3 out of their last 4 Premiership games.

Wasps v Exeter Chiefs – Wasps by 10

Wasps need this game and Exeter are thinking of the European Champions final against Racing (if it goes ahead with COVID). With more on the line I expect Wasps to take this at home. Exeter have lost their last 2 Premiership games showing that they aren’t concerned about these last couple of games in the regular season.

Sale Sharks v Worcester Warriors – Sale Sharks by 7

This is the postponed game. I made my prediction before the COVID test fall out. Again I’m going with the team that has more on the line. Sale are looking to make the playoffs and Worcester will be thinking of next season.

If Bristol lose then there might not be anything for Sale to play for and that could throw a spanner in my picking works.

Record So Far

78 from 126 or 62%, the end of the season has been crazy with which games are and aren’t going to matter for the final placings.
