The Pro14 returns this coming weekend and takes a different approach to the Premiership. They aren’t going to try and catchup all the games that were missed. Instead we are going to get tow rounds of derby games and then we are into the finals!

Glasgow Warriors v Edinburgh – Edinburgh by 3
Last weekend this was an easy calla s Edinburgh have been perfect at home this season. Away though they have been 50:50 making this a much harder call.
Glasgow also have only been beaten by Leinster and Scarlets at home meaning that their record means this should be a harder task for Edinburgh. Even so I’m still going with the away team as they are heading to the finals and will want to keep the moment going.
Dragons v Scarlets – Scarlets by 5
This should be an all out attack game from Scarlets. It’s one of only two games that matter this weekend and they need the TBP win to put pressure on Munster.
Can they do it? One thing for certain is that Dragons won’t be accommodating. They are heading in the right direction this season but a fired up Scarlets will be too much for them at this stage.
Ulster Rugby v Leinster Rugby – Leinster Rugby by 3
Both these sides are heading to the finals and normally you’d think that they would be resting players for future battles. However they’ve had months off and so it’s a balancing act of getting players match fit and not burning them out with high intensity games in a short period of time.
Yup might say that it’s only 4 games but you need to remember that both sides are still in the European Rugby Champions Cup too. They’ll be wanting to still be at full strength come the Quarter Finals in that competition….
Munster Rugby v Connacht Rugby – Munster Rugby by 5
Munster will know what they need to do going into this game. If Scarlets have got the TBP win then they need a draw. Either way you can’t see Connacht getting the away win here.
At home Connacht are dangerous but their away wins have been over the Kings, Ospreys and Dragons. Munster is a totally different prospect to those games.
Cardiff Blues v Ospreys – Cardiff Blues by 5
The more I look at this game the less confident I get with my pick. Sure Ospreys have only two wins and a draw this season and they were all at home.
However Cardiff haven’t been tracking great themselves. Surely though they have enough to see off the Ospreys at home? I think so but you never know with these dead rubbers and players are thinking of next season already. Normally I’d say they are thinking of the beach but these are unprecedented times folks.
Zebre Rugby Club v Benetton Rugby – Zebre Rugby Club by 3
I got this one so wrong last weekend! I had Benetton down for a couple of wins to be honest. Clearly that’s not happening and I have to switch to Zebre. They won last weekend and now they have the advantage of playing at home!!! Surely they can’t lose…….
Bye – Cheetahs and Kings
Well not so much a bye as they are not taking part in the rest of the Pro14 season due to travel restrictions and playing restrictions around COVID19 in South Africa.
Record So Far
Over all I’m 75 from 95 or 79% the draw didn’t help last weekend but I’m still happy with how I’m tracking.
