We might already know who’s going to win Super Rugby Aotearoa but we can still enjoy the games.

Hurricanes v Blues – Blues by 3
We were probably too down on the Canes at the beginning of Super Rugby Aotearoa. The schedule was not kind on them as they faced the top two sides in the opening two rounds. So how much of their apparent improvement has come from the balance that the return of Jordie Barrett and how much due to facing easier opposition?
We’ll probably get a good idea of that this weekend.
The Blues came up short against the Crusaders last weekend even with their new tactical selection of players. With the Crusaders also picking up a couple of bonus points to none by the Blues and it’s a big 6 point gap at the top. All the Blues can do from here is to keep to try an apply pressure on the Crusaders.
Can they keep winning though? I think so but this game and the away trip to the Highlanders are going to be though tests before they finish with the Crusaders at home.
Chiefs v Highlanders – Chiefs by 3
The Chiefs really needed that week off to regroup after a really poor opening to Super Rugby Aotearoa. Before lockdown there was a lot of positivity around the Chiefs but injuries have hindered them and it’s all been gloom recently.
I really had the Highlanders locked on as the third best team in Super Rugby Aotearoa. However that loss to the Canes last weekend has rocked my belief in the men from the deep south. At home after a week-off for Gatland to work with the team and what’s looking like a wet weekend…I’m going for the Chiefs
Bye – Crusaders
We are at the halfway point and the Crusaders already have one hand on the cup. Missing the first week and only having one rest during the ten week season hasn’t harmed the Saders so far and I can’t see it doing so.
Record So Far
7 from 10 or 70% so far, I’m not having a great Super Rugby Aotearoa.
