Gallagher Premiership 2019-2020 Round 13 Predictions

The Gallagher Premiership is still crazy. Just look at the table, the top two teams have a points difference over 100. Most of the rest have a negative points difference.

Worcester Warriors v Northampton Saints – Worcester Warriors by 3

Two sides at different ends of the table but both in really poor recent form. Saints are on a run of four losses and Worcester have going worse with five.

What has happened to Saints by the way? Started the season great but since the Rugby World Cup players have returned they have fallen off a cliff.

This season supposed to show what ring-fencing would look like and for Worcester it doesn’t look much better than promotion and relegation to be honest. At home though they should have a rare victory for their fans.

Sale Sharks v London Irish – Sale Sharks by 10

Sale have a points difference of +105 and yet are only one point ahead of Bristol with a points difference of +12. What a crazy world we live in.

In all honesty that’s not going to matter this weekend though. Irish might have been tracking nicely recently but that Sale pack should see the to the win.

By the way is there something wrong at Sale? Two players have recently left mid-season and that rarely happens.

Saracens v Leicester Tigers – Saracens by 5

OK which Saracens is going to turn up for this game? In their last five games they have both won and lost by fifty points. There is a little more consistency at home and that’s what’s led to my pick but you never know.

The one thing that is reassuring for pickers is that it’s Tigers visiting. Zero wins from six attempts away this season. Need I say more?

Exeter Chiefs v Bath Rugby – Exeter Chiefs by 7

Bath are one of those sides that don’t like travelling. Their two away wins have been at Worcester and Irish. Some people might suggest that Bath don’t like playing on a good pitch.

Anyway Exeter have had a bunch of players released by England and at home should prove to be too good for Bath.

Wasps v Gloucester Rugby – Wasps by 3

This is not a pick that I thought I’d be making a few weeks ago. Wasps have won four out of their last six games. It’s sad that Dai Young had to leave Wasps but it does appear to have galvanised to team.

Gloucester are in free fall. Four losses on the bounce and they have dropped to ninth in the table. After finishing easily in third last season the wheels have really fallen off. Are Gloucester so reliant on a couple of players that as soon as they are missing it all falls apart?

Bristol v Harlequins – Bristol by 7

Quins have been really inconsistent this season. In their last four games they have beaten Exeter and Saracens but lost to London Irish. Part of that is their struggles on the road. Only one win in five attempts.

Bristol on the other hand are in a fine run of form. Four wins on the bonce and up to third in the table. Another win here should keep the pressure on Sale in second.

Record So Far

42 from 72 or 58%, oh no another shocking round there. 1 right in round 12 hasn’t helped.
