Mitre 10 Cup 2019 Round 6 Predictions

Last weekend in the Mitre 10 Cup 2019 we had some really close games being won on the buzzer. Also Otago managed to defend the Ranfurly Shield when everyone thought they would lose it. To catchup on all of that you can watch Steven and I reviewing the round 5. Below I give you my predictions for all the Round 6 games coming up.

I’ll be getting to 3 games this weekend, bringing you live coverage on Twitter as well as Post Match Interviews on YouTube. I could really use your Support in getting round to all these games as I’m not paid by any organisation to do so.

Waikato v Hawke’s Bay – Waikato by 5

This should be a cracking game. Hawke’s Bay are all about their pack and line-out maul. Can Waikato maintain their discipline to not allow those kicks to the corner? If so I expect Waikato’s backs to be far too dangerous to contain.

I will be at FMG Stadium for this game, follow me on Twitter for my live coverage.

Northland v Canterbury – Canterbury by 20

Northland are having a horror season. We thought that they would be kicking on and going for the final but it’s not happening. Canterbury have turned the corner with 2 good wins after their opening 3 losses. This looks like another TBP win for the red and black machine.

I will be at Semenoff Stadium for this game, follow me on Twitter for my live coverage.

Taranaki v Bay of Plenty – Bay of Plenty by 7

I thought that the Naki were going well. However if you look at their wins they have been against Manawatu and Northland. Sure there was also the opening round win over Counties but it’s been downhill since then. Bay of Plenty have been going well with their only losses to Premiership opposition and even then they have looked like they could win the game. This should be another step towards the finals for them.

Join us on Monday’s at 8pm for the Mitre 10 Cup show as we review the weekend’s action, cover the hot topics and look forward to the next round

Southland v Manawatu – Manawatu by 3

This is Southland’s last chance of a win this season. The problem is that Manawatu looked to have found some form with their win over Northland last weekend. How much did that take out of them though? Also can they repeat the points scoring as that’s the only game this season that they have scored freely.

Counties Manukau v Auckland – Auckland by 3

This is going to be a tough game. Both sides need a result here as there are only 5 points separating 2nd from 7th and relegation. With Counties sat in that 7th place they could find themselves adrift if they don’t win this one. I just feel that Auckland will be too powerful on the counter attack.

I will be at Navigation Homes Stadium for this game, follow me on Twitter for my live coverage.

Wellington v Otago – Wellington by 15

Wellington have a knack of winning by narrow margins but I think the shackles will break loose this weekend. Otago have been poor away from home and I think that the Ranfurly Shield is all they are thinking about. An easy TBP win for Wellington.

Tasman v North Harbour – Tasman by 30

Tasman are very good and I can’t see anyone stopping them. Harbour are in for a tough weekend especially as their strength is their backs not forwards.

Farah Palmer Cup

The Farah Palmer Cup is the women’s provincial competition here in New Zealand. Here are the round 3 fixtures:

  • North Harbour v Hawke’s Bay
  • Northland v Otago
  • Taranaki v Tasman
  • Manawatu v Waikato
  • Bay of Plenty v Auckland
  • Wellington v Counties Manukau
