The Pro12 ploughs on as the Aviva Premiership takes a break for the November Internationals. Here are my predictions.
First here is a link to my round up of all the action from last weekend.
How did your round 7 predictions go?
3 from 6, I was caught out by the Friday night upsets.
Here are my 1 Line Predictions, read below for my full reasoning.
Newport Gwent Dragons v Connacht Rugby
Both these sides won’t be impacted by the international window that much. Dragons are again having a tough season but they do love their Friday night home games. 4 weeks ago I would have gone for the home win because of that. But since their win over Ulster, Connacht have looked much more like the Championship team from last season. So I don’t I’m backing a narrow away win here.

Edinburgh v Ulster
Edinburgh lost to Zebre at home last weekend for the first time ever. So it’s safe to say Edinburgh are having a poor season. This weekend though their visitors will be missing players to Ireland and are having to handle off field issues. It came to light this week that 2 of their players are being investigated by police. As long as Ulster aren’t too distracted by those issues they should be picking up an away win here.

Munster v Ospreys
Both these sides will be missing a host of players but the biggest question for me is how much to Munster have left in the tank emotionally? Unless you are near to the squad it’s impossible to know. Munster know that it’s 1 more game and then they get some time off to deal with things. Ospreys have been going well this season but missing their stars and playing away I think will prove a hurdle too far.

Benetton Treviso v Cardiff Blues
Cardiff have lost 2 out of the last 3 in this fixture. However this is a different Cardiff team compared to the last few seasons. If it wasn’t in the international window I would confidently back Cardiff but instead I’m going to have to unconfidently back them.

Zebre v Leinster
Zebre have shown sprouts of improvement, they were leading Connacht before the weather interviewed and they got that historic victory over Edinburgh last weekend. They get to host last year’s losing finalists and current table toppers this weekend. Leinster will be missing players due to the game in Chicago but still should have too much for the Italians.

Scarlets v Glasgow Warriors
Scarlets are another side that have found their from from last season. Glasgow have been a bit inconsistent and as I type this now I’m losing confidence in my picks. I’ve gone with Glasgow because they are the team with the better pedigree out of the two. However I think who the teams have available will go a long way to deciding this 1. Sometimes it has to be a gut feel thing.
