Pro12 2016-2017 Round 7 Predictions

The Pro12 had a good couple of weeks in the European competitions and now they return to domestic action. Here are my round 7 predictions.

First here is a link to my round-up of all of last weekend’s action form around the globe.

How did your round 6 predictions go?

4 from 6, not great but also not the end of the world.

Here are my 1 Line Predictions, read below for my full thoughts.

Ulster v Munster

Ulster had a mixed couple of games in Europe and will be looking to get back to the Pro12. They did show they have the nerve to win game against Exeter. Munster have gone through a tough time with Foley passing away in Paris. They came out and steamrolled Glasgow but I think that they will be feeling emotionally drained after that. If Munster bring the game that beat Glasgow they will win but I don’t think it will happen.

Edinburgh v Zebre

Edinburgh had a great start to their European campaign and this should be a home TBP every day of the week. Zebre had a harrowing couple of weekends and you have to wonder where the club is going.

Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso

Another Scotland v Italy clash in this weekend of derbies for the Welsh and Irish sides. Again this should be a comfortable home TBP win. Last weekend Glasgow came up against a very emotionally charged Munster side so this will feel like a walk in the park.

Cardiff Blues v Scarlets

Cardiff started the season week with 4 wins but slipped up before the European break with 2 losses. Scarlets were the opposite with 3 losses and then 3 wins. Whilst that does show that Scarlets have improved it is mainly a sign of the schedule. Blues have since won both their games in Europe and should also win this game.

Ospreys v Newport Gwent Dragons

Ospreys have been looking impressive this season with their only 2 losses coming when they have visited Ireland. The Dragons got a moral boosting win in Europe but will find this away trip too much to handle. Ospreys should add to their impressive 4 TBP wins this season with another.

Leinster v Connacht Rugby

For me this is the tie of the round. Leinster have been going well this season and sit in second place with the same points as top team Ulster in the Pro12. Connacht started poorly but since that win over Ulster just before the European games have looked a much improved side. I’ve heard the sides might be missing their Ireland players too but I’m still going with the home win.
