The season is in full swing but some teams are still to rack up their first win to kick them off. Here are my round 3 predictions.
First here is a link to my round-up of all the action from last weekend.
How did your round 2 predictions go?
4 from 6, I didn’t see the Welsh sides doing so well in Ireland.
Here are my 1 line predictions, read below for the reasons.
Cardiff Blues v Glasgow Warriors
Cardiff have had a great start to the season with 2 wins and have really impressed me. The problem is that they are facing the form team this weekend who have really made some statements. Beating both the finalists from last season puts Glasgow as the firm favourites even if they don’t top the table. I think that Glasgow will win this and I just hope it doesn’t derail Cardiff after their 2 wins.

Ulster v Scarlets
Scarlets were one of the great stories from last season but they are finding it much hard this time around. 2 losses in their opening 2 games means that they will becoming into this game lacking confidence. Ulster isn’t an easy place to play at the best of times and when they are on a roll and you’re not it’s even harder. I can only see a home win and Ulster remain my dark horses to win the while thing.

Edinburgh v Leinster
A win and a loss each so far means that they both know they need a win here to keep at the right end of the table. Edinburgh are a side that don’t travel well and so need to get their home wins to have any chance of making the playoffs. Leinster though are going to be too tough I think and will get 1 win out of their 2 game tour of Scotland.

Newport Gwent Dragons v Munster
Munster lost a tight one to Cardiff last weekend and take on their third Welsh side in 3 weeks. This one will be much easier and I think they will rack up their second win in Wales. This is going to be a long season for Dragons and they are going to need to cherish their rare victories like the 1 they got last weekend.

Zebre v Connacht Rugby
Connacht have had a poor start to the season with 2 losses. They are struggling with injuries and losing players over the summer. This is exactly the kind of game they need to kick-start their season. I don’t think it will be a massive victory but it’s all about getting that first win and building some confidence.

Ospreys v Benetton Treviso
Ospreys top the table and this will be another opportunity to pad out the points difference. We have to keep a dose of reality though, they will have played both Italian sides at home after this weekend and so some of the easy TBPs will already have been collected.
