Weekend Rugby Review – 4 July

Back into Super Rugby with a bang and I’ll also sum up the ProRugby action. Here is my round-up of all the action.

Super Rugby

Chiefs 23 – 13 Crusaders
Brumbies 43 – 24 Reds
Sunwolves 12 – 57 Waratahs
Hurricanes 37 – 27 Blues
Rebels 31 – 57 Stormers
Cheetahs 30 – 29 Force
Lions 37 – 10 Sharks
Kings 18 – 48 Highlanders
Jaguares 29 – 11 Bulls

6 from 9, it didn’t start well as I predicted the Saders and then I didn’t get the upsets.

Chiefs and Crusaders played the first every Super Rugby game in Fiji and it looks like it was a great success and the they will be back next year.

Here is my summary of how things stand with just 2 rounds left of the regular season.

ProRugby

Ohio 44 – 21 San Diego
San Francisco 19 – 43 Sacramento

1 from 2, I put too much faith in San Francisco’s improvement.

Ohio opened up a 6 point lead in the table over Denver but Denver have played 2 less games. It all could come down to the last game of the season when they play each other. At the other end of the table, Sacramento closed to within 2 points of San Francisco and still have a game extra to play.
