After months of non-stop rugby it all comes down to this one game. Here is my prediction for the final of the Aviva Premiership 2015-2016.
How did your semi-final predictions go?
2 from 2, as the home teams both won their games.
Here is my 30 second One Line Prediction, read below for the full reasoning.
Saracens v Exeter Chiefs
As they say the table doesn’t lie and the 2 best teams from the regular season have made it to the final. If we follow that through then Saracens are a bonus point win and a bit better. Saracens also won both the games between these 2 sides during the regular season. Saracens also have experience of being in and winning these big finals in front of 80k people. So all the signs point to Saracens doing the double and adding to their European Rugby Champions Cup victory.
I’m going to go with that and agree with the public Twitter vote. For Exeter Chiefs this has already been a very successful season. They made the playoffs of the top European competition for the first time. They made the playoffs of the Aviva Premiership for the first time and this is their first big final. The LV=Cup was a great achievement but it’s not on the same scale as this. So Chiefs have nothing to fear and if they can keep their nerves under control could play with great freedom. If they get an early lead then maybe Saracens tired legs from those extra European games might tell. This is not a foregone conclusion but I’m still going with experience and I feel Chiefs time will come over the next couple of seasons.
