Aviva Premiership 2015-2016 Semi Finals Predictions

We are nearly at the end of the seasons, there are only 4 teams left. Who will make it through to the final? Here are my predictions.

First here is a link to my round-up of last weekend’s action.

How did you round 22 predictions go?

5 from 6, Bath finishing on a high was the one I got wrong.

Here is my 30 second One Line Predictions, read the full reasoning below.

Saracens v Leicester Tigers

Saracens have had a great season already, topping the table comfortably and winning the European Champions Cup without losing a single game. Will that have taken too much out of them? We will only have to wait and see to find out but as they had a large number of players away with the England side they were forced to have some rest weekends. Also the last time these two sides met Tigers came away as victors so maybe it’s not the clear cut decision it appears at first.

Tigers have put in performances that have surprised most people. There was a large turnover of players over the summer and many thought a drop in quality. Tigers showed us all what they are made of and why they have been England’s most successful team. Not only have they returned to the Premiership playoffs again they also made the European Rugby Champion Cup semi-finals. However away from home against Saracens I think this will be a game too far.

Exeter Chiefs v Wasps

This has been a historic season for Chiefs as with all these teams they had a successful European campaign. They made the playoffs for the very first time losing to Wasps away at the death. This is also their first time making the playoffs in the Premiership. Many scoffed at Tony Rowe when he stated the aim of making Chiefs a top European side, those have now stopped. With this being the 4th time these sides have met this season they will know each other well and so far it’s 2 wins to Exeter.

Wasps have the tools to take the best teams apart a they showed away against Saracens earlier this season. When they visited Sandy Park a couple of weeks ago though they came up short as they tried to earn a home tie. That game though was off the back of an emotional one and this time with a week off they will have been able to fully focus. Still like the vote I’m backing the home side to make it to their first ever Premiership final.
