We have a new leader in Ulster after they won the only game last weekend. Will they be able to hold off the chasing pack? Here are my predictions.
How did your one prediction go last weekend?
1 from 1, I got it right!
Newport Gwent Dragons v Connacht Rugby
Dragons have had some good results at home such as a recent Friday night downing of Leinster and beating Munster. Can they add another Irish scalp? The problem is that they still sit in 10th with only the Italian sides below them. Connacht showed a good return to form in the last round. So with not a great amount of comfort I’m backing the away team to take a narrow win.

Leinster v Zebre
Simple home win, Leinster have not lost at home yet and are challenging at the top. I know that they have lost players to the 6 Nations and stumbled away to Dragons last time out but this is a different matter. Zebre’s only away win was to Treviso and they sit second from bottom.

Ulster v Glasgow Warriors
This is my pick of the games this weekend, Ulster are the new top team and Glasgow are the defending champions. The problem for Glasgow is their success and that they lose so many players to Scotland during the international windows. They have had some poor form recently but at the time of writing the voting was in their favour. Ulster’s climb to the top has been on the back of their home form where their only loss was narrowly to Munster. So I’m going against public opinion and backing a home win.

Scarlets v Edinburgh
After a great start Scarlets have been a bit inconsistent recently. However three of those four losses have been on the road and we are back into an international like the early season. Edinburgh have been poor on the road this term losing four out of six games. So this is all pointing towards a home win.

Benetton Treviso v Cardiff Blues
This should be a simple one to call, Treviso haven’t won a game all season and so this should be an away win. However this is exactly the kind of game that has tripped Cardiff up before as we shown when they lost to Zebre in Italy. I’m still going to back Cardiff though as they have shown better form recently and are on a four game winner streak.

Munster v Ospreys
This is one of the harder games to call as both sides have lacked consistency this season. Ospreys have been showing some improved form but that was with their Internationals getting back into the swing of club rugby. They have all disappeared off again, so I’m expecting Ospreys to be one of the sides that struggles more during the 6 Nations. Munster in contrast did well early in the season but their European results have sucked the morale out of the team. If they can find that Rugby World Cup form they should be fine at home.
