This is a strange weekend as the postponed European games are taking place this weekend. So there are only three games this weekend and Glasgow Warriors will have another game in hand. Here are my predictions for the reduced schedule.
How did your predictions go last weekend?
4 from 6, OK as I picked one of the three upsets.
Edinburgh v Benetton Treviso
This is the easy game of the weekend to call. Treviso is still looking for their first win of the season but they have kept the scoreline close a number of times. Edinburgh are having a decent season with only one loss at home. However Edinburgh have not claimed any TBPs yet and so I’m not expecting a blow to score.
Edit – Edinburgh have 1 TBP against Dragons, however they are the 3rd lowest try scoring side in the league. So I’ll stand by my comment about not expecting a blow out score.

Ospreys v Leinster
The other two match-ups are looking much more interesting. Both these sides started the season a bit off colour but are now on 6 game winning streaks. The big question is which one will give? or will they both with a draw? Don’t worry I’m not going for the draw. I think that I’ll be going against the grain with this one. Leinster have only won overseas against Treviso so far this season so I’m going to back the improving Ospreys to win narrowly at home.
I was surprised by the outcome of this poll as I though that Leinster would be the favourite but it’s looking very even.

Scarlets v Connacht Rugby
Another battle between teams that have had similar stories this season. Both started well and have been leading the league but have stumbled recently. I was told all along that Scarlets didn’t have the strength to maintain their challenge when all the internationals returned. There was however a lot of optimism around Connacht that has deflated somewhere recently off the back of a long injury list. I’m again going to back the Welsh men at home against the “invading” Irish from over the sea due to that long injury list.
