I have a 90% success rate in predicting Pro12 results this season and I’m 20th out of 5,500 in the SuperBru competition. I think I’m ready to go public with my predictions so here they are for round 8.
First up a disclaimer, whilst I do these for fun and predictions not betting I know that there are a few professional gamblers that follow me. I don’t follow Pro12 as closely as the Aviva Premiership and I don’t have the time to do game by game reviews.
Edinburgh v Newport Gwent Dragons
Edinburgh won their first 4 games before a disappointing run of 3 losses saw them drop down the table. Dragons have only 2 wins and both of those have been at home against Italian opposition. This should be a good opportunity for Edinburgh to get a moral boosting win.

Glasgow Warriors v Benetton Treviso
Last years champions were a bit up and down whilst their internationals were away at the Rugby World Cup. A loss to Saints last weekend shows that they are still getting into their stride. How ever this weekend they face Treviso who have yet to win a game. Easy home win that should include a TBP.

Leinster v Ulster
First of the two all Ireland games. Both sides have had an up and down season and both sides backed that up with losses in the European Rugby Champions Cup. Leinster have not lost at home in the league and Ulster’s only away win was at Dragons so I’m going for a close home win.

Ospreys v Cardiff Blues
Ospreys had a poor start to the season with only wins against Italian sides in the league. There was an improvement in the European Rugby Champions Cup and perhaps that’s a sign that their internationals are reintegrated. Blues only victory came in the opening game of the season against Zedre. I can only see a home win but I don’t think Ospreys are yet playing at their best to put up a big win.

Munster v Connacht Rugby
This is the second all Island clash and game of the round. Both these sides have been going well with them both having only loss one game each. Both those losses were away to other top sides in the Pro12. It’s going to be a tight game and I’m going for a home win.

Scarlets v Zebre
Scarlets have been going well with only one loss to Leinster. That form is unlikely to carry through the rest of the season now the other teams have their internationals back. Zebre are the stronger of the two Italian sides with two home victories. This week though they are away and to a form team, so it’s a home win but probably not the TBP as Scarlets have only managed 1 so far this season.
