Aviva Premiership 2014-2015 Playoff Predictions

We are down to the last 4 teams and we have a new one this year. It’s good to have a fresh face but can they make it further? Here are my predictions.

First here is a link to my review of the final round of games.

How did your predictions go last round?

3 from 6, a draw meant a clean sweep was never on. Still it would have been nice to have done better In the final round.

Northampton Saints v Saracens

This is one that I found very hard to call. My gut instinct is that Saracens will carry the day as Saints have been a bit up and down since their loss to Clermont. I know that they fielded a weakened side against Leicester but they did also lose to Exeter Chiefs in the run in. I then looked at Saracens record and it’s also not been too fresh having also lost to Exeter and Clermont. They were closer losses but the head rules and as Saints have had more rest I’m expecting them to be fresher and to win a close one.

Bath v Leicester Tigers

Tigers have done magnificently to have made the playoffs considering their early season form and results. Whilst they have been getting the results they have been ground out and their points difference shows they have found it hard. Has this taken a toll on their players? How much do they have left in the tank? Either way Bath have been magnificent at home this season and have the more dangerous backs. So I’m expecting Bath to make it to their first Premiership final in a long time.

Gloucester v Connacht

This is not a Premiership playoff but I thought I would have a predict anyway. I’m much more familiar with Gloucester and so that might be swaying my pick. However I think that the Challenge Cup champions have been looking much more a team recently. Add that to their resting of players last weekend and I think they will have a comfortable win at home.

Junior Rugby World Championship

The JRWC kicks off at the beginning of June and I’ll be doing my usual predictions and reviews for that as well. Please join in the fun with my¬†SuperBru prediction league.
