6 Nations 2015 Round 3 Predictions

This is the midpoint of the competition, there is still all to play for and four teams could still win the competition. That will get reduced to three this weekend, here are my predictions.

First here is my review of round 2.

How did the predictions go?

3 out of 3, so great.

Scotland v Italy

Scotland have put in a couple of improved performances and could easily have come away with two wins. As it is though that haven’t and they do need to learn how to win. Italy on the other hand have not looked like winning either game but their forwards have looked competitive. The forward power will give Scotland some problems and they will be down to something like their fourth choice fly half. The amazing thing is that Scotland are still favourites even with these issues and it should be a home win.

Scotland win

France v Wales

OK this one has clichés all over it, which French team will show up and will the Welsh plan A be enough or can they find a plan B? The French team has been in decline over the last few years and whilst they did get past Scotland found their power style wasn’t enough against Ireland. Against Wales they will be coming up an equally powerful side so there are going to be plenty of big collisions. I think that Wales will make it 4 in a row but this is the one I’m least confident of as France have the players to beat any team.

Wales win

Ireland v England

England have won the last 4 encounters between these two sides, however that game against England was the only one Ireland lost last year. Ireland have been impressive if limited in their game plan, no offloading and lots of kicking. If anything England’s backs look more dangerous but weather forecast is wet and whilst England will be playing 3 fullbacks they are going to be busy receiving a wet ball. Ireland are the more settled side and will be better drilled, England are still getting used to each other, so I’m going for the home win.

Ireland win
