Aviva Premiership 2014-2015 Round 11 Predictions

After this game we will be halfway through the seasons and everybody will have played everybody. It’s kind of fitting that the halfway point is also the changing of the years. Anyway here are my predictions for round 11.

How did your predictions go last week?

First up here is a link to my review of last week’s action.

5 out of 6, doesn’t sound bad but I had the opportunity to get a full house, as it was I let my heart rule my mind and to one wrong pick.

London Irish v London Welsh

This is one of the pivotal games of the season, not one that will draw the viewers as it’s at the bottom of the table but still pivotal. Irish are on a six game losing streak but the Welsh one is even longer. This is one of three games that Welsh need to win for survival but I just can’t see it happening and the four points will put Irish 14-15 points clear.

London Irish win

Bath v Exeter Chiefs

Both these teams are flying high even if Exeter had a blip last weekend. But Bath are the only team Exeter have not beaten in the Premiership since promotion. There have been two wins in the LV-Cup but this is a different matter. Bath have also been magnificent at home so even though I would like an away win I’m going with the head this week.

These two teams along with Saints are the three teams to have taken points from every game this season. So I think it will be close with a LBP for Exeter.

Bath win

Sale Sharks v Leicester Tigers

Sale have really got their season on track with four wins on the bounce. Tigers are much improved recently with several players back from injury but are still not at their best. So I think Tigers are going to come up short against a side in form and I’m backing another home win.

Sale Sharks win

Newcastle Falcons Saracens

Falcons have been much better this season and will be happy to be 14 points clear of relegation. How ever this week they come up against one of the most ruthless sides in England. Saracens managed the largest winning margin against Welsh so far this season last weekend. This won’t be anywhere as easy but still another win for Saracens in their only away game on the same pitch they have at home.

Saracens win

Harlequins v Northampton Saints

Quins have shown an upturn in form especially in the European Rugby Champions Cup, they also got a win last weekend but it wasn’t convincing. Saints on the other hand are showing why they are the current champions. So it’s an away win in this one.

Northampton Saints win

Gloucester Rugby v Wasps

Both these teams have been inconsistent this season mixing up wins with losses. You can understand with Gloucester as so many players and the coaching staff were new at the beginning of the season. With Wasps who have a much more settled group it’s not clear what the cause is but they have lost all their away games. So it’s fairly easy to call this one as a home win.

Gloucester Rugby win
